Frequently Asked Questions.
1. What issues can therapy help with?
Therapy can support you through a wide range of challenges including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, relationship issues, burnout, self-esteem, and more. My approach is especially helpful for those navigating high sensitivity, emotional overwhelm, people-pleasing, and feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve them.
2. Do you offer therapy online or in person?
I currently only offer virtual therapy across Ontario and coaching services Canada-wide. Sessions are held through a secure video platform, giving you flexibility and comfort from your own space.
3. What’s your therapeutic approach?
I work somatically and relationally, meaning I help you understand your thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations in the context of your relationships—both past and present. My work is trauma-informed, intuitive, and grounded in evidence-based practices like EMDR, IFS (Internal Family Systems), and mindfulness-based approaches. I am a big believer of weaving in healing through the body and moving beyond staying in your head/disconnected.
4. What’s the difference between psychotherapy and coaching?
Psychotherapy is a regulated mental health service that focuses on healing emotional wounds, trauma, and mental health concerns. Coaching is more goal-oriented and future-focused, often centered on personal growth, transitions, or decision-making. We can discuss what’s right for you in a consultation.
5. Who do you work with?
I work with adults (18+) across diverse backgrounds, identities, and experiences. Many of my clients are women or gender-expansive folks navigating identity, motherhood, trauma, high achievement, or the impact of systemic oppression. I also work with couples seeking deeper connection and conflict resolution.
6. How much do sessions cost, and are they covered by insurance?
Session fees range from $140 upwards. If you're in Ontario, psychotherapy services are often covered under extended health benefits under “Registered Psychotherapist” or “Psychotherapy” categories. Coaching is typically not covered. Please check directly with your provider.
7. How often should I come to therapy?
If we are new to each other, we will begin with weekly or biweekly sessions, depending on your needs and availability. Together, we’ll create a pace that supports your goals and well-being.
8. What happens in the first session?
Our first session is about getting to know you. I’ll ask questions about your history, current concerns, and what you’re hoping to get out of therapy. It’s also a chance for you to get a feel for how I work and ask any questions you may have.
9. Is what I share confidential?
Yes—confidentiality is a cornerstone of therapy. As a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), I follow the ethical guidelines set out by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). There are a few legal exceptions (such as imminent risk of harm), which I’ll explain during our first session.
10. How do I get started?
You can begin by booking a free 15-minute telehealth consultation. This gives us a chance to connect, explore your needs, and see if we’re a good fit.
